Christmas At Manor Farm - Saturday 22nd December 2018
We have witnessed so much activity from the Farm over the past few years, But how different will it be this close to Christmas, Do families still meet up in the spirit world?
Join us for a full investigation of this amazing location with hundreds of years of history.
A very exciting place for the perfect ghost hunt
Situated in Bursledon, Manor Farm was once nestled in the heart of Botley. However, as the main road was built away from the farm, the village grew and left the farm isolated in the middle of 400 acres of woodland and open space.
The medieval farmhouse dates back to the 15th century and has been added to over the years, with the last rooms being added in the 18th century. The blackened roof timbers, evidence of the domestic fires used for heating and cooking, can still be seen in the small 15th century open hall. With reports of unusual smells, auditory phenomena, poltergeist activity and full body apparitions from staff and visitors alike, do the farming families who once inhabited the farmhouse still visit their past home?
Once part of the original farmhouse, we will also investigate what is now known as the Wartime Cottage, so named after the BBC programme ‘Wartime Farm’ which was filmed in the house and broadcast in 2012.
We’ll also have the opportunity to investigate the now deconsecrated chancel of the 13th century St Bartholomew’s church. Surrounded by gravestones dating back hundreds of years and overlooking a duck pond which was mentioned in the Doomsday Book, can we make contact with the monks who once travelled from Beaulieu to Netley Abbey via this quaint church?
We begin our investigation at 8pm and finish at 2am
Tea & Coffee is provided throughout the night alongside a well stocked tuck-shop selling extras like chocolate, energy drinks etc.
